An Atlantic City man has been identified as the city's first homicide victim of the year.

Dwight Hutchinson, 65, was found unresponsive in the first block of North Kentucky Avenue near the Save A Lot at about 2:20 p.m. Sunday, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Will Reynolds said.

Medical personnel were unable to revive him.

An autopsy determined he died of injuries sustained from a stab wound.

The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been announced at this time.

The investigation is being conducted by the Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and Atlantic City police.

Anyone with information about the killing is asked to call the Prosecutor’s Office at 609-909-7800 or go to the Prosecutor’s Office Web site at https://www.acpo.org/tips.html and provide information by filling out the form anonymously on the Submit a Tip page.

Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.

NOTE: This story originally ran June 5. It has been updated to include the victim's name and cause of death.

A cover was put up to keep the public from seeing the body, which was removed from the scene.
