Five people were arrested on drug charges Wednesday in Atlantic City, including two with outstanding drug cases.
A surveillance operation in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue resulted in the seizure of about 140 grams of heroin, three grams of crack cocaine and more than $2,500 in cash, police said.
While watching the area at about 5:15 p.m., Sgt. Christopher LoDico saw several people loitering in front of a business, according to the report.
Amanda Santiago, 29, was arrested after walking away from what appeared to be a drug deal, and was found with two wax folds of suspected heroin, Sgt. Paul Aristizabal said.
The Atlantic City woman was found to have outstanding warrants, and was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility. She also was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
The surveillance continued, and LoDico saw a group of four men continue to make what appeared to be drug deals, Aristizabal said.
LoDico and Officers Robert Reynolds and Dion Liu detained the men.
Shawnali Muhammad, 20, of Atlantic City, was found with about 80 wax folds of suspected heroin, or 26 grams, according to the report.
Jaquan Washington, 28, of Absecon, allegedly had about 94 grams of suspected heroin. He has a pending drug case from three weeks ago, also in Atlantic City, court records show.
Dante Braxton, 24, of Atlantic City, allegedly had about 20 grams of suspected heroin. He has a pending drug case from May.
Braxton also was sentenced to five years in prison in a 2017 weapons case, where he was arrested with a gun reported stolen from Colorado. It was not clear when he was released.
Halim Fisher, 24, of Galloway Township, was found in possession of about three grams of suspected crack cocaine and a digital scale commonly used to weigh narcotics.
The officers seized about $2,523 cash believed to be proceeds of illegal narcotics sales.
All five were released on summonses.
