A "high-speed, head-on" crash injured five people and closed part of Delilah road for hours Sunday morning, Egg Harbor Township police said.
A 17-year-old was heading east on Delilah Road at about 9:30 a.m. when a 2012 GMC Acadia made a left turn into his lane, Lt. John Heim said.
The teen's 2008 Mercedes Benz S550 and the GMC crashed head-on according to the report.
The Mercedes then struck a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse parked on the shoulder of the road with driver Ayanna Wayner inside.
Wayner's vehicle was moved about 50 yards, Heim said.
The teen's car came to rest against a high-tension electrical pole.
The GMC, driven by Michele Mammone, wound up in the westbound lane of Delilah Road just east of Eagon Avenue.
Both Mammone and the teen had to be extricated by fire department personnel, Heim said.
All three vehicles sustained significant impact damage.
Five people were taken to various hospitals, although police did not indicate how many occupants were in each vehicle.
None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
Mammone, 46, of Monmouth Junction, Middlesex County, was issued a summons for careless driving, court records show.
The teen's name was not released due to his age. He was not issued any citations, police confirmed.
Delilah Road was closed in both directions for about two hours while crews worked to remove the vehicles and clear the roadway of debris.
The crash is being investigated by Egg Harbor Township Traffic Officer Nathan Lahr, along with Officers Christopher Leary and Charles Davenport.
In addition to police, firefighters from Farmington, Cardiff and Bargaintown responded to the scene along with the Atlantic City International Airport Fire Department, Pleasantville Tri-Care Ambulance, Atlanta-Care Paramedics, Atlantic County Haz-Mat Team and the Atlantic City Electric Company.
