A Mays Landing man recently paroled from prison for a gun case and three Atlantic City 17-year-olds were among nine people arrested during a drug surveillance operation last week.
Atlantic City police seized a total of 52 grams of cocaine, 145 bags of heroin, assorted paraphernalia used in the distribution and use of drugs and an undisclosed amount of cash.
All nine were released on summonses, including Tariq Smith, who was paroled in March after serving less than two years of three-year sentence.
That conviction stemmed from a June 2021 car stop where Smith, now 20, was found with a loaded handgun. He was listed as an Atlantic City resident at the time of that arrest.
Smith now faces multiple drug charges, including possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone, loitering and conspiracy.
The report did not indicate where in the city the arrests happened on if any of the suspects were arrested together.
The three teens, along with Massi Bundy, 24, of the city, and Semaj Poteat, 22, of Lawrenceville, Ga., face the same charges as Smith.
It's the second time in five months that Poteat was released after a drug arrest in the city.
Deshawn Handy, 20, of Atlantic City, was charged with loitering to distribute drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy.
Cole Steffy, 44, both of Atlantic City, is charged with possession of drugs and paraphernalia.
Rose Yvette, 62, of Abington, Pa., is charged with a count of possession.
