An Atlantic City man who served adult time as a juvenile is back in jail after he allegedly stabbed a Philadelphia man on the Boardwalk.
Jamaal Campbell, now 27, faced his first adult charge at 17, when he was arrested with a .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun in his waistband.
Now he is charged with attempted murder after police found a 27-year-old man stabbed in the 1400 block of the Boardwalk at 2:39 Sunday morning.
Surveillance Center personnel were able to find the attack on video and provided responding officers with a description of the suspect, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Officer Jonathan Revolus then found Campbell in the area of North Carolina and Pacific avenues, Fair said.
Campbell was identified as the suspect and taken in without incident, according to the report.
A city woman was also charged after she allegedly refused to leave the crime scene while officers and medical personnel were treating the victim, Fair said.
Dymond Wayne, 18, allegedly spit on an officer and resisted arrest.
She also kicked the inside of the patrol car causing damage as she was taken to the Public Safety Building, Fair said.
Wayne was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice and criminal mischief. She was released on a summons.
It appears she also has an open warrant for aggravated assault from July, which is listed as outstanding in the court record.
In addition to attempted murder, Campbell is also charged with two counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
Campbell was alleged to be part of the Dirty Blok drug-trafficking gang when he was a teen, which was considered in the decision to waive him up to adult court.
