A suspect in an Atlantic City New Year's Eve shooting was arrested after he allegedly stabbed a Good Samaritan on New Year's Day.
Robert Harrell, 31, was wanted in a shooting at the Econo Lodge on Pacific Avenue just after 9 p.m. Monday, that left a 48-year-old man in serious condition with multiple gunshot wounds, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
The victim is Harrell's father, BreakingAC has learned.
The next day, a 47-year-old man was driven to the hospital after he was stabbed in the area of Georgia and Pacific avenues at about 8:40 p.m.
Harrell was allegedly trying to steal a woman's purse when the victim stepped in and was stabbed, Fair said.
Harrell then fled.
Officer Ryan Kov arrested him a short time after a description was released, Fair said.
An investigation by detectives of the Violent Crimes Unit led to charges and a warrant being issued for Harrell’s arrest for shooting the victim, who has seen been transferred to Cooper Health Systems in Camden.
Harrell is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on charges of attempted murder, robbery, four counts of aggravated assault, two counts each of unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
