Cape man arrested on child pornography charges

  • News

A 74-year-old Cape May Court House man is in jail after investigators allegedly seized more than 1,000 items of suspected child sexual abuse materials from his home.

An investigation sparked by a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to Henry Schenawolf’s Secluded Hollow Road home Thursday, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland and Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner announced Friday.

Multiple computers were seized.

Schenawolf was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography, both second-degree charges.

He could face five to 10 years in prison on each, if convicted.

The prosecutor thanked Middle Township police and Homeland Security Investigations’ Atlantic City Division for their assistance. He also said the investigation is part of an ongoing effort by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to identify those involved in child pornography and child exploitation.
