Hamilton Commons is on the list of Regal theaters set to close under the company's bankruptcy plan.
The Mays Landing movie theater is one of 11 in the state owned by Regal, and one of two on the cut list.
Thirty-nine Regal theaters in the US are set to close — on top of a dozen that have already been shuttered — after parent company Cineworld announced it was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September.
Regal is the second-largest cinema chain in the nation, behind AMC, with more than 500 theaters.
The Chapter 11 process makes it easier for companies to walk away from leases without incurring major penalties and to press landlords for better terms.
The plan is estimated to help the company save $22 million a year. Cineworld said it is still working with landlords to preserve other theaters.
