A Millville man is charged with murder in the strangulation of his girlfriend.
Police were called to the 200 block of Riverside Drive on Monday and found the 25-year-old woman dead, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said.
It appeared to be a strangulation, but an autopsy is pending, she said.
Steven Gonzalez, who also lived at the residence, was arrested at a family member's home by Vineland police, according to the report.
The victim’s name is not being released by law as this is a domestic violence incident, Webb-McRae said.
Gonzalez, 24, is additionally charged with second-degree aggravated assault.
He is in the Cumberland County jail pending a detention hearing.
The investigation is ongoing.
