A Philadelphia man was arrested after he allegedly touched several teenage girls inappropriately in the surf off an Atlantic City beach.
Officers Deborah Gilmore and Marquez Jones were called to the New Hampshire Avenue beach at 5:11 p.m. Sunday.
They arrived to find the suspect had been detained by Atlantic City Beach Patrol Capt. Jamie Torres.
Rojer Gomez would swim near the teens and, when a wave came, he would go underwater and touch them in the inner thigh or buttocks, according to three alleged victims, ages 16 and 15.
There were numerous witnesses, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Gomez, 29, is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of criminal sexual contact and one count of aggravated criminal sexual contact.
He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
Based upon the investigation at the scene, police believe there may be more victims. Anyone with information is asked to call Atlantic City police at 609-347-5766. Information may also be submitted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
