A 17-year-old Atlantic City girl allegedly drove away from Brigantine police twice in two weeks.
Police first tried to stop the juvenile at 8:21 p.m. June 15, after running the stop sign at Amherst Avenue and Harbor Beach Boulevard, according to the charges.
Officer Michael Waszen could not get the girl to pull over, despite using his lights, sirens and air horn, according to the report.
Instead, she increased her speed to 68 mph in the 45 mph zone, leading to Waszen ending the pursuit under local, county and state policies.
The officer did get a good look at the driver, and was able to obtained surveillance of her and the passenger patronizing Wawa.
Police saw the girl again June 29, when Officer Julianna Rote saw a vehicle that had been reported stolen in the Wawa parking lot with two people getting inside after leaving the Wawa.
Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but it exited the parking lot at a high rate of speed and in a reckless manner, according to the report.
Officers pursued the vehicle, but terminated the chase in Pleasantville.
They were again able to get video from inside the Wawa, and determined it was the same driver in both incidents.
Photos from those surveillance videos were posted on the Police Department's Facebook page last week, asking for help identifying her. But after it was determined she is a juvenile, the photos were removed, police explained.
The girl came to the Police Department on Sunday with a parent to surrender, police said.
She was charged with two counts of second-degree eluding police and one count of third-degree receiving stolen property. She also was issued several motor vehicle summonses, including reckless driving and being an unlicensed driver.
She was released to her parent on a summons.
