At least one wounded in Atlantic City shooting

  • News

A 19-year-old Atlantic City man was wounded in a shooting Sunday night, police said.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter audio gunshot-detection alert at 11:21 p.m. in the 1000 block of Brigantine Boulevard in Brigantine Homes, according to the report.

They found evidence of gunfire but no victim, Lt. Kevin Fair said.

A short time later, the victim showed up at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment, he said.

A witness told BreakingAC another young man was struck in the ankle and was put on a stretcher at the scene, but police had no record of a second victim.

No arrests have been announced.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the city's Violent Crimes Unit at 609-347-5766. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
