An Ocean County man who was already a registered sex offender was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison on child pornography charges.
David Frew, 42, of Little Egg Harbor Township, pleaded guilty in July to receiving images of child sexual abuse and inducing a minor to send him sexually explicit images and engage in sexually explicit conduct over an online messaging service.
Frew asked the girl to send him images of her naked body parts, and eventually asked her to do sexually explicit things on video chat, the complaint states.
The charges are similar to ones he was convicted of in 2008, after he sent sexually explicit photos and videos to an account he believed was a minor, but instead were investigators with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit, who were posing online as underage girls.
He was sentenced to 180 months in prison, the minimum he faced under the plea, which could have carried a 40-year sentence.
Frew also faces five years supervised release.
He already was subject to Megan's Law before the latest case, but was not listed on the public registry.
Not all registered sex offenders are listed on that site.
