Mullica woman on release in truck theft arrested in Atlantic City carjacking

  • News

A Mullica Township woman charged with stealing a truck from a Gloucester County dealership was arrested Sunday for allegedly carjacking a Door Dash driver in Atlantic City.

Rita Ramminger was identified through several tips to the Westville Police Department after she allegedly struck a worker Jan. 17, as she fled Corsinos' Used Cars in a stolen 2005 blue Dodge Dakota.

She was arrested three days later, and then released on the highest level of monitoring from the Salem County Jail on Jan. 23, records show.

Ramminger is now back behind bars in Atlantic County.

But now, she's listed as Blaze Constantino.

The 51-year-old woman was arrested Sunday morning, after crashing a vehicle she allegedly stole from the Atlantic City McDonald's on Arkansas Avenue.

The owner was picking up a Door Dash order just after 2 a.m., when she came out to find a blonde woman trying to steal her blue Mazda 626, the victim told police.

She tried to stop the suspect, who assaulted her and drove off with the owner still holding on to the car, according to the affidavit obtained by BreakingAC.

The victim was dragged for a few seconds, she told Officer Jerae Langford.

Moments later, Langford was flagged down at Delaware and Atlantic avenues for a crash, and saw the vehicle matching the stolen car's description, he wrote in the affidavit. He also saw the woman, identified as Constantino, who was taken to the hospital for her injuries.

Constantino/Ramminger appeared to have a black eye and other facial injuries during a detention hearing Thursday.

Her public defender consented to detention, saying there is nowhere for the woman to go if released.

Attorney Lauren Musarra made the concession with the allowance that the hearing could be reopened if circumstances changed.

But release still would seem unlikely.

Gloucester County has filed a motion for violating the terms of her release in the truck theft.

Additionally, Constantino/Ramminger is the highest level in the two scores given under the public safety assessment used under bail reform. It also recommended she not be released.

She will now remain in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Police in Westville, Gloucester County, put out Ramminger's photos in January, to help identify the suspect in the dealership truck theft.
