An Atlantic City man who admitted to his part in a plot that killed a friend in 2012 is back in jail on drug and gun charges.
Demarice Bennett, 36, was arrested with two others Wednesday, after police allegedly found three handguns, along with heroin and drug paraphernalia inside a home in the 1300 block of Magellan Avenue.
Dequay and Keisha Belt were also arrested.
Bennett pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in 2019. His three co-conspirators remain in prison.
Bennett was sentenced to a 10-year term under the plea agreement, with a mandatory 6½ years before he was eligible for parole.
Most of his sentence was served in the Atlantic County Justice Facility before he pled. He served just more than nine months in state prison before he was released Jan. 24, 2020.
Bennett is now charged with money laundering, gun and drug offenses, including certain person not to possess a weapon.
Dequay Belt, 20, is charged with the same crimes.
He already has at least four pending drug cases dating to June 2021, when he was 18. His most recent arrest was in February.
Belt's 39-year-old mother, Keisha, is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute and money laundering.
She was released on a summons.
