Egg Harbor Township police are looking for the driver of a truck that struck a pedestrian Friday night and fled.
Police were called to the intersection of English Creek and Ocean Heights avenues at about 8:30 p.m. for the report of a crash involving a pedestrian.
Jacklyn Reinhart, 24, of North Cape May, was lying in the middle of the roadway following a previous incident when she was struck by a vehicle heading west on Ocean Heights, Lt. Larry Graham said.
The vehicle did not stop, and continued toward Hamilton Township, according to the report.
It is described as a black or dark-colored pick-up truck with an elevated suspension, oversized wheels and tires, and tinted windows all the way around the vehicle.
Traffic was diverted for about two hours while the crash was being investigated by Sgt. Ed Stearns, and Officers Nick Poletis and Nate Lahr.
Reinhart was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus by Egg Harbor Township EMS. Her injuries were described as significant.
Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the truck or driver is asked to call Egg Harbor Township Police Traffic Safety Unit at 609-926-4045.
