  • News

Two men were arrested after an Atlantic City K-9 team led to the recovery of drugs and a gun, police said.

Detectives Christopher Dodson and Eric Evans stopped the vehicle at Tennessee and Pacific avenues at 12:35 p.m. Thursday.

K-9 Officer Michael Braxton and his partner, Ryker, showed a positive indication for drugs in the vehicle, Lt. Kevin Fair.

Khilid Scott and Joseph Dixon were arrested after detectives recovered a loaded handgun, more than 48 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia used in the distribution of narcotics, according to the charges.

Dixon, 31, of Atlantic City, was also found to have an active warrant.

He and Scott, 25, of Philadelphia, were charged with drug and gun offenses.

Dixon was also charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted person.

Both men were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending detention hearings.
