Egg Harbor Township police have ended a standoff that lasted for hours Thursday morning.
Details were not immediately available.
But police confirmed to BreakingAC that the standoff any without injuries.
There have been calls to the man's home before, but not to this extent, police said.
Police were called to the area of Bates Drive and Tremont Avenue at about 4 a.m. for a disturbance, police said.
While officers were in their way, more information indicated the man had a firearm and may have discharged it, although that was not confirmed.
A source told BreakingAC the man may have a rifle. Police were still awaiting a search of the home at 4:30 p.m. to see if a weapon was found.
Police and the Atlantic County SWAT team were on scene through the standoff.
Tremont was blocked off from Oakland to Main avenues. Bates was also blocked from Dogwood Avenue.
Contact was made with the suspect by responding officers when they initially arrived, but that stopped, according to the report.
Attempts to re-establish contact were ongoing.
The man is believed to have mental health issues.
Police said there was no known threat to the public, but the area was locked down out of an abundance of caution.
