A Bridgeton man is jailed in the fatal shooting of his former girlfriend.
Alex Blocker, 35, is charged with murder and weapons offenses in the death of Shanelle Stewart.
The 25-year-old Vineland woman was found fatally shot in a vehicle in the 2000 block of Wheaton Avenue in Millville just before 1 a.m. Thursday.
Details of the attack were not released.
Surveillance footage shows a vehicle that matches Blocker's following Stewart's vehicle moments before the shooting, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Blocker and Stewart have two children, a 4-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son, family confirmed.
The two were apparently no longer together.
The investigation is ongoing.
Blocker remains in the Cumberland County jail pending a detention hearing.
