Repeat Atlantic City drug offender arrested while out on pending drug charges

  • News

A repeat Atlantic City drug offender was arrested Thursday while free on pending drug charges.

Knocumus Dixon, 33, was the target of an ongoing drug investigation led by Detective Eric Evans.

A warranted search of his residence in the first block of South Iowa Avenue led to more than seven ounces of cocaine and paraphernalia used in drug distribution, Lt. Kevin Fair said.

Dixon was arrested in a 2020 drug raid while on release pending sentencing in a 2017 drug case.

He was eventually sentenced Aug. 10, 2021, to eight years in the 2017 case and five years in the 2020 case, state Department of Corrections records show.

Dixon was released from New Jersey State Prison about three months later on Nov. 18, 2021.

He was again arrested May 27, 2022, on multiple heroin-related charges, along with money laundering, court records show. He was released on a summons in that case, which is still pending.

Dixon now is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
