Arson damaged an entrance to the Atlantic County building in Atlantic City early Wednesday morning.
The fire closed the Bacharach Boulevard employee entrance until further notice.
“We have cameras on our buildings and we are reviewing the videotapes in consultation with the county’s Department of Public Safety, fire marshal and the county prosecutor," Atlantic County Executive Director Dennis Levinson said.
It was the third time within the past week that fire was set outside the building at 1333 Atlantic Ave., he said. Wednesday's was the most damaging.
"We have our suspicions as to who is responsible," Levinson said."The fires appear to be deliberate acts of arson.”
Employees and customers must use the entrance on Atlantic Avenue.
“We have a duty to protect the safety of our employees, our customers, and our properties," Levinson said. "We will investigate and prosecute so these unlawful acts do not go unpunished.”
