Three teens arrested for violating Atlantic City's curfew

  • Crime-Courts

An Atlantic City teen faces drug charges after he and two others allegedly refused to leave a business long after curfew.

Police were called to the 2600 block of Atlantic Avenue for a report of three males refusing to leave at 1:17 a.m. Tuesday, Capt. Kevin Fair said.

Officers arrived and tried to speak with the males, who ignored them, according to the report. They were told the teens also refused numerous requests by merchants for them to leave.

They were arrested after it was learned that not only were they trespassing, but they were breaking the city's curfew, Fair said.

The search of a 17-year-old from the city led to 355 individual bags of heroin and a small amount of cocaine, according to his charges that included money laundering.

He was sent to Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.

The teen along with another 17-year-old Atlantic City boy and a 16-year-old from Egg Harbor city were charged with defiant trespass and curfew.

The parents also were given summonses for allowing their child to be outside past curfew.

The other two juveniles were released on summonses.
