Twin brothers Nnamdi Chukwuocha and Al Mills will return to the area next week for a free event at Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing.
Known as Twin Poets, the two are the first African Americans to share the distinction of poets laureate for Delaware.
They are known for their advocacy of poetry as a tool to positively transform the minds of people of all ages.
Chukwuocha and Mills wrote "Our Work, Our Words... Taking the guns from our sons' hands" and "Our Work, Our Words... Poems from the pavement."
They also are the subject of the award-winning, Hearts and Minds Films Documentary "Why I Write," which chronicles their artistic and social work on the frontlines to save children and empower communities.
The Twin Poets also founded Art For Life-Delaware, a youth and community development organization rooted in the arts.
The gathering begins at 5 p.m., with the performance set to start at 6 p.m.
