Happy President’s Day Weekend!
If you are not out buying appliances and mattresses you are probably looking for something to do. There’s a bevy of hilarious comedians coming to town at both big and small venues this weekend.
Have you been to Anchor Rock Club just off the Boardwalk yet?
Well, walk on over from any of the casinos along the famous walkway (or grab a $2.50 Jitney from the marina side of town) and for the bargain price of $20, see the comedy stylings of Kerryn Feehan from Comedy Central and Sirius XM at 8 p.m. Friday.
This venue got a spot on the monopoly map for its alternative music scene and whacky Night Markets by local promoters Noetrope. It’s gorgeous inside.
Get there before everyone finds out about it!
It’s all about choices when you come to Atlantic City. And tonight you have a tough one.
Blue Collar Comedy Tour Veteran Ron "Tater Salad” White also takes the stage 8 p.m. Friday at the event center at Borgata. Tickets are going fast on this one.
It’s a big venue with great sound.
Like most things, Borgata rarely misses.
In honor of Ron’s love of tequila, get there early and grab a drink at Gypsy Bar with it’s huge agave elixir selection. It’s conveniently located near the entrance to the show.
But the big news is that one of my personal favorite comedians Katt Williams is storming into Boardwalk Hall for one night only Saturday night.
It’s all but sold out. So don’t sleep on this one.
He’s fresh off his scathing, viral interview with Shannon Sharpe where he attacked some pretty heavy Hollywood hitters. If he said all those things on a recording, what the heck do you think he’s going to say live?
(Hint: They don't want the media at this one.)
The world famous Harlem Globetrotters are here on Monday at Boardwalk Hall. Be sure to keep up with what’s going on at this historic venue by searching BreakingAC's events HERE.
Where are my Brady Bunch fans?
If you want to visit another ornate venue with “old Atlantic City charm” head to Resorts for A Very Brady Murder: A Murdery Parody on Saturday at 5 or 8 p.m.
I have been to these audience-participation heavy performances. There’s laughs and high energy from a youthful cast. Plus, there will be plenty of time for blast-from-the-past selfies. “Here’s the story…” it’s going to be fun.
While you are there, you can Take Your Lucky Shot at $50,000!
Starting at noon, all Star Club Members can fill out a $50,000 Half Court Basketball Shot entry. A shot at $50K and “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha”?
Get to Resorts this weekend! (My guess: Jan did it.)
Finally, if you’re not a city mouse, you can head offshore to Somers Point for a new play festival.
SPQR Stage Company is producing its sixth annual New Works Weekend, where $20 will get you eight new plays.
Enjoy vibrant stage readings from experienced playwrights like my colleague Heidi Mae bringing her new work, The Swashbuckler. Mae has had numerous works produced, as well as directing shows at Dante Hall and Stockton Performing Arts Center.
The event is both Saturday and Sunday at Studio;Space. This is a very small venue with theater seating.
Parking is less than ample so arrive early. Then stop at The Crab Trap for an early dinner.
Have a great date night while supporting local artists.
And if you don’t want to go anywhere at all, you can go to Studiospacespnj.com to purchase the livestream feed for all eight 10-minute plays.

Those are some highlights folks.
It’s obviously not the complete list of things to do in an entertainment town like ours.
Be sure to check out our calendar of events, visit your favorite casino’s website and click the entertainment tab and keep it here for weekend highlights and venues off the beaten path.
