Two teens arrested in deadly Atlantic City shooting

  • News

Two Atlantic City teenagers are charged in a shooting that killed one teen and wounded another early this month.

The shooting happened before 11 p.m. Jan. 5, in the 3300 block of Atlantic Avenue, where several juveniles were attending a party at an AirBnb, BreakingAC has confirmed.

A 14-year-old was shot in the head and died two days later at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office has only listed him as F.G.

One of the teens now charged was also wounded in the shooting.

The 16-year-old, named only as A.C. due to his age, was shot in the leg. He is now charged with second degree aggravated assault by discharging a firearm at another person, along with fourth degree pointing a firearm in the direction of another person and second-degree charges possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose and possession of a firearm without having a permit to carry.

A second 16-year-old, identified as L.C., faces second-degree charges of aggravated assault by discharging his firearm at another person, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose and possession of a firearm without having a permit to carry.

Neither teen is charged in the killing at this time.

Both teens were arrested last Tuesday. A.C. is in the Harborfields Atlantic Youth Center and L.C. is in the
Essex County Youth Detention Center.

The shooting is being investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit.
