The Atlantic County Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees for dogs starting Thursday in honor of Valentine's Day.
“There is no greater feeling than the unconditional love you receive from a pet,” shelter Manager Kathy Kelsey said. “They help brighten the most trying days.”
Dogs available for immediate adoption will have no fee through Feb. 16.
The shelter also provides a 50 percent discount on adoption fees for senior pets and cats available for immediate adoption. Veterans receive a 50 percent discount on all adoption fees.
Regular adoption fees are $110 for dogs and puppies and $85 for cats and kittens and include mandatory sterilization, age-appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and free veterinary consultation. Adopted canines also receive two free obedience classes.
The shelter is open daily from 1 to 4 p.m. by appointment only. Call 609-485-2345 to schedule a visit.
