An Atlantic City man who claimed self-defense was convicted of murder in the 2022 fatal shooting of a Philadelphia man.
Kenneth Creek, 49, was charged within days of the Aug. 25, 2022, killing of Jordan Eaddy.
Creek remained a fugitive for months in the case.
During a detention hearing in January 2023, Creek's attorney claimed the victim had a gun and shot first.
But video footage of the shooting shown at Creek's trial showed he shot twice at the Eaddy as the victim tried to flee.
The fatal wound was to Eaddy's back, the medical examiner testified.
Creek faces a sentence of 30 years to life in the killing. He also was convicted of weapons offenses, including being a certain person not to possess a weapon.
His co-defendant, Aaron Callahan, previously pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a handgun and is free pending sentencing.
Callahan was seen reaching into his waistband and giving the gun to Creek right before the fatal shooting.
Creek remains jailed pending sentencing set for Sept 25.
