A Mays Landing man who served time for attempting to murder his mother is now charged with killing her.
Police were called to the 6300 block of Quinn Avenue at about 11:38 a.m. Wednesday for a deceased woman inside the residence, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
Melba Daly, 74, was found dead inside her Harding Lakes home. The cause of death was not released.
Her 53-year-old son, Sean Daly, was charged with murder and weapons offenses. He is accused of stabbing her in the neck.
Sean Daly previously served a four-year prison term for attempted murder, after he stabbed his mother inside that same home March 3, 2015, court records show.
Daly was arrested but had not yet been brought to Atlantic County Justice Facility. Once processed, he will stay there pending a detention hearing.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit and Hamilton Township police are continuing their investigation.
