These places will be hoppin' for Easter weekend

  • Food & Drink

I have two tips for you this Easter.

One is if you’re dating someone, yes, they are expecting an Easter basket from you. Trust me. It’s time to hit Target before all the stuffed bunnies are gone.

The other is to not wait until the last minute to make reservations for Easter brunch.

Everyone knows that the weekends are the busiest time of the week in Atlantic City. But if it’s a holiday weekend and/or nice weather, it can be packed. So, if you didn’t spend enough to get a free ham at Shoprite, or you just don’t feel like boiling eggs, here’s a list of a few places to wear your bonnet to next Sunday.

Easter Brunch at Capriccio

Capriccio, the award-winning Italian offering in Resorts, is offering an Easter brunch buffet for $80 per adult with children $39.95. Kids 5 and under are free!

A great selling point to this event is the hours. It’s from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. That gives those who attend church services or work grave shift the opportunity to participate.

You can expect all the holiday favorites done up the Capriccio way. If you haven’t been here, it’s great Italian food. I look forward to what they come up with for brunch.

The Seaview

OK, you’re offshore and, admittedly, it’s not the best view of the sea. But this place has always served a great brunch.

It’s changed owners over the years. However, it is still a beautiful place with ample, free parking.

There’s no need to wonder.

This Dolce Hotel in Galloway has the full Easter brunch menu on the website. It includes a soup course and chicken fingers for the pickiest of little eaters. It says they come with ranch. But if the chef happens to be reading this, I would save a dining room tantrum and whip up some honey mustard.

It runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $69.95 per person, and $30 for children 6 to 12. Kids 5 and younger eat free.

The Claridge

This place will always be close to my heart because I got married there on the luckiest day of the millennium: 7/11/21.

If you are in town, but don’t want to take the kids to a casino, then the historic Claridge is for you. It’s right in the center of town, still has an old Atlantic City lobby full of brass and plenty of charm.

The brunch includes children’s activities, bunny photos and bottomless bloody Mary or mimosa “Mommie Juice”.

The brunch is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $44 for adults and $15.99 for kids 3 to 12, not including tax. It's free for those 2 and younger.

Pancake breakfast at the Steel Pier

If you have standing Easter Sunday plans but still want to enjoy A.C. over the holiday weekend, head to the famous Steel Pier on Saturday to get tickets for a family fun event!

For $16.95 you can have pancakes with the captain of cottontails himself. And the best part is, every ticket holder under 12 gets a free ride wristband!

If you can’t make it until Easter Sunday, don’t worry.

The big bunny has carved out some time from his busy schedule for a fuzzy meet and greet. The Easter Bunny will have a goodie bag for you.

While you are there, you can head to any ticket booth and score BOGO 80-pack ride books too!

The Steel Pier has been proving its “metal” (see what I did there?) since 1898. It’s also one of the best spots to take selfies with magnificent ocean views.

Don’t miss this kickoff weekend of the 2024 season.

Bar 32

Remember how I told you at the beginning of this article that your sweetie will be expecting some sweets from you?

A sure-fire way to get some points is to add some chocolate from this boutique chocolatier on Tennessee Avenue.

Co-owner and proprietor Nicole Callazzo — or more informally known on the block as Mama Chocolate — will be giving Peeps, pretzels and cookies a fresh dunk in luscious confection and, of course, there will be bunnies.

“I used to do fun food things for my kids for the holidays. Now, I do it for all my ‘kids’ in the neighborhood.” Callazzo said.

Her children are now grown and help in the shop.

Stop by and grab a few treats to fill up those baskets and support a family business.

These and many more options are available to you at your favorite diner, club or restaurant. There’s no excuse to not take the day off and enjoy family and friends.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate!
