A Millville man convicted of sexually assaulting a preteen girl and getting her pregnant was sentenced to 40 years in prison this week.
Justin Kuhl, 32, could have faced life in prison on his charges, which included two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
He was convicted at trial last May of sexually assaulting the girl who was younger than 13 between Jan. 1, 2018, and Sept. 11, 2020, in Millville.
The girl wound up pregnant.
The investigation was conducted by members of the N.J. State Police and Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.
Under the Lunsford Act, he faced at least 25 years in prison.
Kuhl must serve at least 34 years before he is eligible for parole.
He must register as a Megan's Law offender upon his release, and would be subjected to lifetime supervision.
