UPDATE: Atlantic City MUA lifts water-boiling warning for Florida Avenue

  • News

The Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority lifted a temporary boil water advisory after tests found it safe.

The temporary water main installed, disinfected and flushed on Florida Avenue between Arctic and Fairmount was not tested prior to being placed into service, the previous advisory stated.

There were 21 customers affected.

While boiling water no longer is necessary, the following measures are strongly encouraged.

  • Run your water faucets for three to five minutes to flush your service connection and interior plumbing with water from the service main.
  • Empty and clean your automatic ice makers and water chillers.
  • Drain and refill your hot water heater if the temperature is set below 113 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Service connections with a water softener/cartridge filters should be run through a regeneration cycle or other procedures recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Water reservoirs in tall buildings should be drained and refilled (as applicable.)

Anyone with questions should reach out to the Atlantic City MUA at 609-345-3315 or email cservice@acmua.org
