  • Crime-Courts

A 75-year-old Mays Landing woman who allegedly admitted to fatally attacking her longtime boyfriend was indicted for murder this week.

A neighbor called police to the Lewis Drive home at about 5:39 p.m. March 31.

Gary Johnson, 81, was found covered in blood with injuries to his head in the first-floor master bedroom, according to the affidavit previously reported by BreakingAC.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and then taken to the morgue by the South Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The cause of death was blunt-force trauma and stab wounds, according to the autopsy.

Eileen Bright was taken to the Hamilton Township Police Department, where she waived her Miranda rights, and admitted to killing Johnson, the affidavit states.

She remains in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
