Ventnor man sentenced in stabbing at Absecon ball park

A Ventnor man was sentenced to three years in prison for stabbing at Absecon's Field of Dreams Park.

Police were called to the sports complex Jan. 1, 2022, for a stabbing victim.

William Clanton, now 24, was found with two knives. He admitted to stabbing the victim during a fight.

The victim had four stab wounds: to the head, throat arm and abdomen.

Officers performed lifesaving treatment. the victim was then rushed to the hospital, where surgery was performed.

Stanton was released from jail Jan. 7, 2022, and has been free until his sentencing Thursday.

He was taken into custody after his sentencing and is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
