An Atlantic City man jailed in two separate assaults on his girlfriend pleaded guilty to both attacks and a separate drug case last week.
Darnell Tenner, 30, tied the woman down and knocked out some of her teeth in the second incident that happened two months after the first.
Tenner was first arrested Nov. 18, 2023, when police patrolling the area of Kentucky and Atlantic avenues at about 11:40 a.m., saw him with a plastic sandwich baggie containing a white rocklike substance, according to the charges.
It later tested positive for cocaine.
Tenner was arrested two months later, after his girlfriend flagged down police at about 11:50 a.m. Jan. 17, in the area of Tennessee and Atlantic avenues.
She pointed to Tenner, who was standing in front of the 24-Hour Food Mart, and told the officers that he had punched her in the mouth and threatened to kill her numerous times.
He was arrested without incident.
Then, on March 21, he was arrested again after the same woman flagged down police in the area of Renaissance Plaza.
She said Tenner had assaulted her earlier in the day by tying her down by her hands and feet, and obstructing her breathing by covering her mouth with a sock. She said he punched her in the face, causing her to lose some teeth.
The woman then told police where Tenner was. He was found but gave police a false name and became irate and tried to spit on the officers.
The woman was taken to AtlantiCare Medical Center's City Campus for her injuries.
He faces 365 days in prison for assault and terroristic threats and three years in prison for the cocaine charge.
His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 20.
