EHT man injured in UTV crash has died

Juan Pablo Hernandez-Agabo

  • Atlantic County

An Egg Harbor Township man who was critically injured in an UTV crash last month has died of his injuries.

Juan Pablo Hernandez-Agabo, 21, died Aug. 30.

He had been in a coma since Aug. 1., when he lost control of his 2015 Polaris Ranger UTV while driving west on Dogwood Avenue between Winnepeg and Alder avenues just after 6 p.m., police previously said.

His cousin Emilio Cerpa started a GoFundMe to help the family that is left with "overwhelming ... costs associated with his medical care and funeral."

Cerpa said that while the two were cousins, Hernandez-Agabo was like his brother.

The Egg Harbor Township High School graduate "was an amazing man with a big heart (who) would do anything for anyone," said his older brother, Sebastian Hernandez. "He always had a smile on his face."

He enjoyed playing video games with his friends, collecting shoes, spending time with his family, riding ATVs and helping his brother run his business, according to his obituary.

Hernandez-Agabo was laid to rest Friday.
