Two Atlantic County Institute of Technology seniors committed to continue their athletic careers at Division I schools.

Yamdry Hernandez, a three-sport athlete will attend the University of Delaware in football.

Hernandez has earned eight varsity letters during his high school career in football, basketball, and track and field.

Tanner Innis, a student in ACIT's Math, Engineering and Science Program, has been an all-star in swimming for four years. He was part of Buena Regional High School's team as ACIT does not have a swim team.

He will attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

"This is a wonderful moment for ACIT," Principal Joseph Potkay said. "It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of these athletes, and we’re proud of everything they’ve accomplished. It’s great to see our students achieve such remarkable milestones, and we look forward to their continued success."

The student athletes joined by Superintendent Phil Guenther, Athletic Director Dr. Robert Wagner and Principal Joseph Potkay.

"Sports provide invaluable life lessons and prepare students for success beyond the classroom," said Dr. Robert Wagner, ACIT's athletic director. "Division I athletes like Yamdry and Tanner are excelling in their sports and building professional skills that will serve them well in their future careers. This is an exciting moment for them, and we are proud to support them as they embark on this next chapter."

ACIT’s Culinary Instructor Chef Katie Morse and pastry students helped celebrate the accomplishments by making personalized cakes to honor the athletes.
