An early morning fire in Pleasantville is under investigation.
Firefighters were called to West Washington Avenue at about 1:16 a.m. Tuesday for a house fire, acting Fire Chief Keven Vanegas said.
They arrived to find smoke and flames showing from the second-floor window.
Firefighters promptly deployed multiple hose lines to knock down the fire, which was under control by about 1:48 a.m.
The fire displaced 14 residents.
One person sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital by Tricare EMS. No firefighters were injured.
Fire companies from Absecon, Northfield, Linwood and the South Jersey Transit Authority assisted.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Pleasantville Fire Department Investigations Unit.
