Six displaced in Egg Harbor Township fire

Six people were displaced in an Egg Harbor Township house fire Sunday afternoon.

Cardiff Chief Bill Danz took command and requested a second alarm, bringing companies from Scullville, Farmington and West Atlantic City.

Numerous volunteer and paid Atlantic County companies provided cover assignments in firehouses throughout the township, fire officials said.

The home was uninhabitable and the vehicle was destroyed.

One of the residents suffered a minor hand injury, but was treated and the scene and released, Mensch said.

"Our thoughts are with the family members impacted by this tragedy," a statement from Cardiff read.

The Red Cross is assisting with the displaced family.
