An Egg Harbor Township man was killed in a shooting overnight.
Police were called to the 100 block of Vermont Avenue for a shooting at about 11:20 p.m. Thursday, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
Arturo Barrera III, 24, was pronounced dead of multiple gunshot wounds at the scene.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
A friend said the victim had been living at the home for about a year.
Known to his friends as Arty, he was remembered as a good man who loved BMX and snowboarding.
Valerie Dabney said she was asleep several houses away and didn’t hear anything.
Her daughter woke her around midnight.
“It’s normally a quiet neighborhood,” she said. The people who live at the home just work on cars.
Investigators from the township Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating. No further information was immediately available.
