Atlantic City man awaiting drug sentence arrested in drug raid

  • News

An Atlantic City man awaiting sentencing in a drug case was arrested Friday, after heroin, cocaine and thousands of dollars in alleged drug money were recovered inside his apartment.
Knocumus Dixon was the subject of a monthlong investigation into complaints of drug sales at the High Gate Apartments.
The Special Investigations Section and SWAT team executed simultaneous warrants at Dixon's and Tareef Lamar's apartments, and recovered more than 1,400 bags of heroin, 76 grams of cocaine and $5,787, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Dixon, 30, was last court in August for a 2017 involving the sale of cocaine during a three-month investigation. He pleaded guilty after being denied drug court.
Now, he and Lamar, 27, are in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on drug charges.
Dixon is also charged with money laundering, and Lamar had a contempt of court warrant.
The investigation was led by Detective Darrin Lorady.
Anyone with information about the distribution of narcotics is to call Atlantic City police at 609-347-5858. Information can also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
