Atlantic City man convicted of sexual assault of Galloway girl

Andreas Andreadis

  • News

An Atlantic City man was found guilty Friday in the sexual assault of a then-8-year-old girl in Galloway Township.

Andreas Andreadis, 44, was convicted of second-degree crimes of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child by sexual conduct and endangering the welfare of a child by abuse in the assault of his then-stepdaughter, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Andreadis went into the girl's bedroom Sept. 15, 2019, and touched her private area while she was sleeping.

He faces five to 10 years, but state will be asking for an extended term due to his criminal history.

It was not clear what the criminal history was. Court records show a guilty plea for bad checks in 2014, and a drug conviction in 2004. His hometown was listed as Egg Harbor Township in those records.

Andreadis' sentencing is set for Nov. 9, but that is often just a hold date in sexual offenses. He first will have to undergo an evaluation at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Avenel.

Upon his release, he will have to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law, with lifetime parole supervision.
