A man was killed Sunday night in Atlantic City, police confirmed.
Deshawn Dawkins, 27, was shot in the first block of South Virginia Avenue at about 9:15 p.m., Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating with the help of Atlantic City police.
About a half-hour later, a 21-year-old man came into the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the hand, police said.
He was shot at Indiana and Hummock avenues, and came to the hospital on his own.
Police are not releasing that victim's name.
Atlantic City's Violent Crimes Unit is investigating that shooting.
The shootings have not been linked at this time.
