Suspects in string of home invasions were co-stars in alligator rap video

Two men arrested in a string of Atlantic County home invasions were in a video shot at an Atlantic City motel that was later the target of a raid. An alligator found at the Bayview Inn & Suites was part of that video. During the Bayview search, investigators also found some of the stolen items, police said. Temple, 31, of Mays Landing, and Whitted-Scott, 25, of Atlantic City, are jailed on multiple charges, including first-degree robbery, aggravated assault and weapons offenses. According to police: On Aug. 5, at approximately 4:58 a.m., Hamilton Township officers were called to Yorktown Place for the report of a home invasion that had just occurred. The victim reported three black males, dressed in dark clothing, armed with handguns and wearing masks, forced entry into the victim’s home and stole cash, electronics and other property. On Aug. 11, Hamilton Township officers responded to Cologne Garden Apartments for the report of an armed home invasion. The victim reported that between 2 and 2:30 a.m., three black males, dressed in dark clothing and wearing masks, at least two armed with handguns, forced entry into the home and stole cash, electronics and additional property. At about 2:
40 a.m. that same day, Egg Harbor Township police officers responded to The Shires development, for the report of an armed home invasion. The victims reported that three black males, two armed with handguns, wearing dark clothing and masks, forced entry into the home and stole cash and cell phones. One of the victims was also pistol whipped during the incident. On Aug. 15, Hamilton and Egg Harbor townships' detectives assisted the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office with the execution of a search warrant at the Bayview Inn & Suites in Atlantic City, as part of an unrelated case. A search of Whitted-Scott’s room at the Bayview Inn yielded the recovery of several pieces of property stolen during the home invasions. As a result of the cooperative investigation, Whitted-Scott and Temple were charged with multiple crimes related to the home invasions, including: first-robbery, conspiracy, burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, criminal restraint, conspiracy to commit terroristic threats , aggravated assault, theft and criminal mischief. Whitted-Scott and Temple were both lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Americans looking to protect their property and family may already own firearms for their own security. A piece of equipment that may prove to be useful in the case of dealing with night time invaders would be night sights for a pistol.
