Car flees Hamilton Township crash with motorcycle it struck still attached

  • News
Hamilton Township police are looking for a driver who struck a motorcycle Wednesday then fled with the bike still attached. Motorcyclist John Weber IV, 19, of Mays Landing, told police he was thrown from his bike when he was rear-ended by the car as they were heading east on Route 40 near Hamilton Commons Drive. The vehicle — possibly a light-colored sedan — continued east with the motorcycle still attached to its front, police said. The motorcycle was later recovered on McKee Avenue in the area of Club House Lane, but the suspect vehicle was not found. It is described as a possibly gold or white sedan, and should have severe front-end damage. Weber was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's Mainland Campus for treatment of his injuries, which were not considered life-threatening. The Hamilton Township Rescue Squad and Egg Harbor Township Police Department assisted. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Hamilton Township police at 609-625-2700.
