Driver strikes pole wire, overturns SUV in Hamilton

A teen driver struck a a utility pole wire Tuesday morning, causing her SUV to overturn in Hamilton Township.
The 17-year-old from Mays Landing was traveling east on Fifth Street approaching Route 50 at 6:22 a.m., when her vehicle struck a guide wire attached to a utility pole, police said.
The vehicle overturned, and the teen had to be extricated by firefighters and treated for minor injuries at the scene, police said.
She was alone in the vehicle.
Fifth Street between Hanthorn Street and Route 50, was closed for about an hour.
Assisting at the scene were the Mays Landing and Laureldale fire departments, and the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad.
The crash is still under investigation.
