Atlantic City man arrested in shooting

  • News
An Atlantic City man was arrested just hours after allegedly shooting a man early Friday morning. Marcelino Martinez, 27, was shot around 4 a.m. in the beach block of Tennessee Avenue and driven to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Camus, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. Robert Creek, 37, of Atlantic City, was arrested a few hours later, and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Police searched the beach block of Ocean Avenue for the gun. Since it was covered by debris, officers and Public Works personnel used shovels, rakes and weed whackers in the search. A Public Works employee using a weed whacker found the gun under dense brush, Fair said.
