An Egg Harbor Township man is charged with murder in the shooting of an Atlantic City man earlier this month.
Troy Demby, 36, is accused of shooting Raphael Terrigino, who was found Feb. 2, fatally shot inside his car, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
The charges allege Demby — a convicted robber — killed Terrigino during a robbery.
Demby is charged with robbery and felony murder — a killing that occurs during the commission of another crime — along with weapons charges, including possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Demby served 11 years in prison on a previous conviction that included three robberies in Atlantic County and an obstruction charge out of Cumberland County, state Department of Corrections records show.
He was released Sept. 29, 2013. It appears he was still on parole.
Demby was found in a home Feb. 7, where police found 10 ounces of cocaine, Tyner said.
He was additionally charged with first-degree possession with intent to distribute.
Demby is currently in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit, and Egg Harbor Township and Pleasantville police.
