An Egg Harbor Township man is charged with receiving images of child sexual abuse.
Matthew Wolny, 40, was arrested by federal agents Thursday, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said.
When Wolny was living in Jackson in September 2013, he had electronic device containing approximately 2,000 images and 1,600 videos of suspected child pornography, Carpenito said.
He was using peer-to-peer file-sharing software to download images of child sexual abuse from the Internet, according to the charges.
Each charge of receiving child pornography carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison, a maximum potential penalty of 20 years in prison, and a $250,000 fine.
