Christina Sciblo found her calling when she got in front of a camera.
The Mays Landing mother of three would watch videos online and think, ‘Hey, I can do this!’”
More than four years and 15,000-plus subscribers later, she’s a full-time YouTuber.
Sciblo recently left her job managing a store at the Hamilton Mall, and instead shares her love of make-up, fashion and organization with thousands.
“When I was working full time, it would get in the way of posting,” she said. “So I left because I couldn’t do what I love and hated working for someone else.”
Now, she posts at least five videos a week, building a loyal following.
She gets sent products to try out and show her viewers, and has worked with national companies like Neutrogena and Hot Miami Styles and local ones including White Lotus Boutique and Esthetica Salon & Spa.
Her most popular video is the “Kim Kardashian Boob Hack,” which has passed 900,000 views.
But she actually made the video before the ever-popular “Kim K” did hers.
New Year’s Eve 2016, Sciblo had a dress that cut so low, she couldn’t wear a bra, so she searched YouTube in hopes of a hack.
Instead, she found a void.
So, having heard of women who use duct tape to lift and separate, she tried it herself and made a video.
“About a month later, Kim Kardashian posted her picture with the tape and that’s when I finally postd the video,” she said.
It blew up, and she gained 1,000 subscribers.
That surprised her, she said.
“Unfortunately, now it hurts me because it’s not ‘advertiser friendly’ when it comes to ads.”
But Sciblo has plenty of those in her library.
“I definitely want to see more positive in this area,” she says.
“I do try to incorporate as much as I can the area that I’m from,” she said. “I just want to see this area succeed. I just want to shine more positivity on it.”
Sciblo is still surprised at which videos get attention, and which don’t.
“It's a learning experience,” she said. “And you learn a lot about yourself along the way.”
