Suspect arrested walking by scene of crime in front of investigator, A.C. police say

  • News
An Atlantic City man was arrested after he walked by the scene of the crime as an investigator was leaving the area. Police were called to the Rite Aid in the 3200 block of Atlantic Avenue for a robbery, Atlantic City Sgt. Kevin Fair said. A 23-year-old store employee told Officer James Bower that when he tried to confront a shoplifter leaving the store, he was assaulted and robbed of personal belongings. The suspect fled. The victim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus for treatement. Forensics Detective EJ Nistico came to retrieve surveillance video of the suspect. But as he was leaving the store, he saw the suspect walking on Montpelier Avenue. When Markus Graham saw Nistico, he ran between houses, according to the report. A perimeter was set up, and Graham was found and arrested without incident by Officers Alex Banaga and Craig Johnson, Fair said. Graham, 21, is charged with robbery, aggravated assault, theft, shoplifting and obstruction of justice. He is being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
